Mental road blocks

I am amazed at exactly how many mental road blocks I see people put up on a daily basis. Some are quite small and petty while others are as industrious as “Stockholm Syndrome” on meth.

“Some day, things will be better” – my boss uses this one almost every day and my reply is always “Only if we make it better”. Yet our company has been “stuck” with the same technology for decades.

“That never happens to me” – This is my own block, relatively minor but it keeps me from reaching for the stars. It’s my own ego, or more correctly – my own self worth – doing the talking.

“I just couldn’t” – Of course you could! Life is full of choices, don’t let societal pressures make you think otherwise!

We make decisions based on our emotions then we use logic to try and justify those decisions.
